I have been wanting to write about this for some time now.. and a couple of events this week have spurred me on to dissect some of the junk that comes in to legitimate sites through Contact Forms and Web Enquiries.
So I am going to address some of the issues with the SEO email spam and Facebook email spam you may have received.
Lets start with some examples. You may (or will) have seen some or all of these examples.
I thought you might like to know some of the reasons why you are not getting enough Social Media and Organic search engine traffic for yourdomain.com.

Any of those ring a bell? They are the standard practice of “website form spammers”. Individuals paid to go from site to site submitting any forms they find online with their “search engine optimisation” and “social media marketing” promotional spam.
The reasons why you should ignore and delete these emails are many..
- You should never do business with “spammers” or unsolicited promotional emails – This encourages the business model, and leads to and increase in spam business techniques.
- Their claims are simply untrue. If they could do what they say they can – “We can increase rankings of your website” – they would not need to “spam” you via an email form. They would simply be ‘well-ranked’ for search engine marketing or search engine optimisation
- There information is inaccurate. – “Your website yourdomain.com is not ranking top in Google organic search“ I have received this line in many an email for sites the DO rank well for most, if not all major keywords.
What can you do?
Not much unfortunately. As these emails are sent via forms and done so by ‘humans’, there is no technical way to stop them.
The only thing to do is ignore them, and delete them as they arrive.
